Dermal fillers are used to restore and revolumise skin and facial contours. They can also smooth wrinkles and lines, as well as defining the shape of certain structures, such as lips.
On average fillers last between 6-18 months and so are an excellent alternative to cosmetic surgery.
WHICH AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Marionette lines aka. corners of the mouth
Nasolabial folds aka. nose to mouth lines- these lines form as a result of volume loss. They can be treated directly with filler but may be recommended in conjunction with cheek filler for optimal results
Hands- volume loss on the backs of the hands can be restored with filler
HOW IS THE TREATMENT PERFORMED?
Local anaesthetic will be put onto the areas that will be treated and the filler is then injected. Lips do tend to be more uncomfortable than other areas of the face. Immediately following the treatment the practitioner will massage the filler to ensure it is smooth with no lumps or bumps.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE TREATMENT?
After the treatment it is advised to avoid high intensity exercise, alcohol consumption, hot environments and touching/rubbing the area that has been filled.
A routine review will be offered at 2 weeks after the treatment.
